Catherine Gruszka

Office Manager

I grew up and went to school in Rutherford NJ. I met my spouse in 1983 and have been married for 40 years. I have 2 children (twins) and 6 grandchildren. I didn’t move too far and currently reside in East Rutherford, NJ. I started my career in the medical field in 1996 and have found working in the front office to be the position I am suited for. I love to interact with patients and help whenever I can.

The core values that drive me in life are God and Family. Any day I wake up and put my feet on the floor is a good day!

“I’m just a soul whose intentions are good, Oh Lord please don’t let me be misunderstood.”

I like to say that I bring good energy to the company. Patients have trouble understanding their insurance and I am always happy to help. It can be extremely frustrating when insurance changes and the patient is unsure of their responsibility. I’m always happy to help!

I like that I finally found my forever job. My employer is kind and understanding and my co-worker makes the job fun.

“If you are having a body part replaced, this is the therapy center for your treatment. I had extraordinary results with my knee replacement. I just did a five-year tuneup, to strengthen my glutes and hamstrings. Had a great outcome. He does a great job with hip replacements too. I also use Dr. John Talty for ongoing physical therapy, unrelated to my knee replacement. I have had the honor of seeing John Talty work with children and teenagers. He has a way with every age group, including us elders. And I have seen John produce astonishing results with patients severely affected by stroke. John’s assistant Cathy is extraordinary on many levels: Cathy knows how to work with the insurance companies. Cathy knows the schedule inside and out, so making an appointment is easy. Cathy walks you through the initial contact with Rutherford Physical Therapy, explaining all the steps along the way. By the time you arrive, you already have a someone on your side. But most of all, Cathy is an excellent physical therapy assistant. She is compassionate, and funny, and uplifting. It is always a good day with Cathy. John Talty has established a practice where people return, as they need other parts of the body treated. It makes for a pleasant atmosphere, as you run into old friends, when you turn up for another course of treatment.”

“Went here for vestibular therapy after months of not getting any answers, racked with anxiety. Cathy is such a positive, kind of person and the best face to see when you walk in. Dr. Talty, also amazing :), helped alleviate a lot of the severity of my symptoms. He was always patient, kind, and willing to listen/talk.”

“Rutherford is lucky to have such a wonderful Physical Therapist in town. Dr.John Talty is a kind, compassionate and knowledgeable physical therapist. I was recommended to John by a family member after I broke 2 bones in my shoulder. Best advice I ever took! John always listened to how I was feeling and tailored my therapy and exercises to my specific needs at each phase of my healing. As a result of John’s expertise and pleasant manner, I made tremendous progress and always felt that John was doing his best for me. And I can’t leave out Cathy who takes care of your scheduling, insurance concerns and more with a smile for everyone. The perfect place to go for healing ! Highly recommended!!!!!!!”
