Dr. John Talty
Dr. John Talty PT, DPT
Owner, Physical Therapist
I grew up in Secaucus, NJ and attended Rutgers University where I received my bachelor’s in science in Exercise Science. I went on to get my Masters in PT from UMDNJ- Stratford, and my Doctorate of Physical Therapy from UMDNJ – Newark. I worked at Holy Name Medical Center outpatient and home care before opening Rutherford Physical Therapy in 2013. I have experience in treating a wide variety of patient cases including orthopedic, neurological, geriatric, vestibular, sports medicine, and burns.
Do the right thing!!! I strive to make the right decisions with respect to myself, my family and those who are affected by those actions.
“How you do anything is how you do everything.”
As the owner, I started as a boutique-style physical therapy office. I always wanted the patient to feel that I had their best interest in mind each and every session. Often times patients switch to PT here because they were not happy where they were receiving therapy. As we grow, I want that same experience for each and every patient. There are so many variables in each individual’s life that can affect them positively or negatively not only on that day but in the future. I try to get each patient to see a big-picture view and how the goal for that session relates to it.
I enjoy treating orthopedic injuries including post-operative rehabilitation as well as neurological cases (post-stroke, Parkinson’s disease, and MS).
I love seeing the progress patients make. I have seen patients start on the first day in a wheelchair and end walking out with a smile on their last session. There is a transformation of them not only physically but mentally a feeling of achievement.
