Accessibility Statement

Rutherford Physical Therapy is committed to making rutherfordpt.com usable by everyone, including patients who use assistive technology such as screen readers, screen magnification, voice control, or keyboard-only navigation. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, not a one-time fix, and we review this site on a regular basis as it changes.

Conformance Target

This website is designed and built to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the standard referenced in the HHS Section 504 rule and widely used as the benchmark for ADA Title III compliance. "Conformance" means we have met the requirements of the standard for the content we control; it does not guarantee that every possible combination of assistive technology and browser will render every page perfectly.

Measures We Take

We build and maintain this site with real evaluations, not automated scans alone. Work has included: semantic landmarks and a skip-to-content link on every page; keyboard-operable navigation, menus, accordions, and booking forms with visible focus indicators; labeled form fields with programmatically associated errors; text alternatives for meaningful images; sufficient color contrast for text and interactive controls; and support for reduced-motion preferences so animation never traps or hides content. We do not use, and will not add, an accessibility overlay widget as a substitute for real remediation.

We periodically re-test this site with automated tools (including axe-core) and manual keyboard and screen-reader checks, and we address issues we find as part of our regular maintenance. If a future change to the site introduces a regression, please tell us using the contact information below and we will investigate.

Known Limitations

Despite our efforts, some parts of this site depend on third parties whose own accessibility we do not fully control:

• The Google Reviews widget embedded on the homepage (powered by Elfsight) is a third-party product. We have not identified access barriers in normal use, but its accessibility is maintained by Elfsight, not by us.
• Google Maps location embeds are third-party content maintained by Google.
• Any tag or script added through Google Tag Manager after this statement was last reviewed (for example, a future chat or scheduling widget) is configured outside this website's codebase and may not have been evaluated against WCAG 2.1 AA at the time you are reading this.
• Linked PDF patient forms are provided for convenience. If a PDF you need is not accessible with your assistive technology, contact us and we will provide the information in an alternative format.
