01Common Questions

Everything patients ask before their first visit.

No. New Jersey has direct access, which means you can book an evaluation today without seeing a physician first. If your insurance requires a referral for reimbursement, we help you get it sorted during your first visit.

We're in-network with most major insurance plans, and we verify your benefits before your first visit so there are zero surprises. Not sure if your plan is accepted? Call us and we'll check before you book.

Most patients feel a meaningful change inside the first two or three visits. Full recovery timelines depend on the condition. We give you an honest estimate at your evaluation, in writing.

Your first visit is a full evaluation, not a rushed five minute look. We ask about your history, watch how you move, and test where your pain actually comes from. You leave with a clear explanation of what is driving your symptoms, a straightforward plan, and often some hands-on treatment the same day. Most evaluations run 45 to 60 minutes. No guessing, no generic handout.

Wear whatever lets you move freely and lets your therapist see the area we are treating. For back or hip issues, athletic shorts or loose pants work well. For shoulder or neck pain, a tank top or short-sleeved shirt helps. If you show up in work clothes, that is fine too. We will adjust and never ask you to do anything that feels awkward.

Your first evaluation runs 45 to 60 minutes. Follow-up visits are usually 30 to 45 minutes of one-on-one time with your therapist, not passed between aides or split across three other patients. That focused time is exactly how we track your progress and adjust the plan visit to visit instead of running the same routine for months.

Most plans start at two visits a week while we calm things down and rebuild the basics. As you improve, visits taper to once a week and then to periodic check-ins as you take over your own program. We would rather see you the right number of times than the most times, and we will tell you plainly when you are ready to graduate.

We're in-network with most major PPO, EPO, and Medicare plans. If you don't see your specific carrier listed, don't assume you're out of luck. Call our office and we'll check your plan and confirm your coverage before you book anything.

Chiropractic care tends to focus on spinal adjustments delivered in short visits. Physical therapy digs into why the problem started: your strength, your movement patterns, your daily habits, then builds a progressive plan to fix it and keep it from returning. Many patients use both. If your goal is a lasting fix rather than a repeat visit every few weeks, PT is built for that.

Yes. Every plan includes a home program tailored to where you are in recovery, never a generic printout pulled from a filing cabinet. We show you each exercise in person, check your form, and adjust as you progress. The goal is a body that keeps improving between visits, not one that only moves when you are in our clinic.

Yes, and it is one of the most common reasons people finally come in. Chronic pain often means compensations have built up for a long time, so the plan takes a broader look at your whole movement pattern, not just the spot that hurts. It usually takes a bit longer than a fresh injury, but real, lasting change is still very much on the table.

For many conditions, yes. A structured course of physical therapy resolves a large share of back, knee, and shoulder cases that once went straight to the operating room. We will always tell you honestly if your case looks surgical. But conservative care is worth a real try first for almost everyone, and it costs you far less time and risk to find out.

Fill out the form on this page, call us directly, or request an appointment online, whichever is fastest for you. We will confirm a time within business hours, usually the same day. No referral is required to get started, and same-week evaluations are almost always available.
